It was a slow start for Long Eaton, who conceded two early well-ran tries from Loughborough, putting them on the backfoot. However, after this first 20 minutes, the team soon found their feet, scoring several tries off counter attack and turnover, led by Ben Milton.

Try scorers included Del Veenendaal, Lewis Giddings, Oli Davidson and Ben Milton, who finished the game with a hat trick, continuing his prolific try-scoring record this season.

Man of the match was awarded to Fly-half, Rory Morgan Williams, who was outstanding in both attack and defence, leading the team brilliantly throughout the 80 minutes.

It’s taken hard work and the lads have dug deep but it is an impressive achievement on our debut season in the Midlands 2 league, after we were promoted twice in two years.
