Long Eaton bounced back from last week's defeat at Lincoln with a storming performance at home against Southwell on Saturday 6th April.
From the whistle, Long Eaton showed their intent by putting the first points on the scoreboard, dominating possession and scoring 43 unanswered points throughout the first half.
Southwell struggled to match Long Eaton's pace and strength as the tries continued to be scored throughout the second half ending in a final score of Long Eaton 81 Southwell 10.
Long Eaton try scorers were: Del Veenendaal (3), Gary Sumpter (2), Josh Asling (2), Ben Milton (2), Robert Cooke, Sam Cotter, Lewis Giddings and Kyran Powell. Luke Bouchier made 8 successful kicks and gained the title of Man of the Match.
The win means Long Eaton secure 3rd place in the Midlands 2 East (North) league. The team are set to play Loughborough this coming Saturday 13th April.
