As we move towards the season and the resumption of outdoor sports, a few details on happenings at Marlins during the long winter. As always, your Board members have been toiling away to keep the club afloat. A very welcome development has been the appointment of Sarah Barnes as Cricket Development Manager. Sarah has taken over this role from the Vice Chairman, leaving him to concentrate on other management issues. Sarah’s immediate impact has seen the launch of the Junior Development Programme, enabling the club to support our young players from joining to playing league cricket. The initiative sought sponsors to help this scheme along and the club is delighted with the number of members who have come forward to take part. Don’t worry if you missed out on sponsoring one of our juniors – there is still time to contact Sarah about the scheme. She would appreciate a call from you.
Dates for all junior training have been published in the calendar on this website, including allocated times for Beavers and Scouts as the club continues efforts to attract young players and give them a feeling of belonging to our club. Remember Sarah is now the contact for all junior cricket matters at our club.
