Matthew Wareham lost the toss at the home of cricket and from that point on our day did not improve. A steady flow of wickets meant Horspath were always in control. We were eventually bowled out for 86 with Hendo our top scorer with 23. We had the luxury of a stronger bowling attack than our batting line up in fairness and we were of the mindset we could win this game. Leading our attack was Peter Toovey and he struck immediately as he has done for our club so many times. At the other end Laura Sandy was probing away bowling an impeccable line and she got the ball to swing and she took three wickets to get our opponents panicking. Horspath had the luxury of an overseas player and he was a very lucky lad, he swung and swung hard but he was out stone dead when on zero. Only the umpire thought Pete had not trapped him in front. Yours truly had his first bowl of 2019 and i got a wicket but we were to lose by 5 wickets in the end. Thanks to John Waldram for standing in as scorer. Thanks also to Chris and a good spread of volunteers for preparing Marlins.
