A very entertaining game to be involved in. Both sides try to play football the right way and in fairness this was a very even match. Godolphin scored all 3 of their goals from free kicks and a hatrick from a lad called Dan Cheadle. One in particular was an unstoppable strike. Other than that it was Lostwithiel who created most from open play and as always were wasteful in front of goal.
All the away goals came in the 2nd half. The first through Dan Nancarrow with a smart swivel and strike into the bottom right corner and the other was a fantastic long range effort from player manager Graham Rule which found the top corner.
Lostwithiel should definitely have got at least a point out of this game and they missed a fantastic opportunity to equalise in the last minute of the game when left back Ryan Morcom found himself in space and bearing down on goal, only to place the ball wide of the far post when a certain goal looked inevitable!
Godolphin are a decent young side who I'm sure will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season, but I think Lostwithiel will also be in the mix and go home deflated having failed to take a point which was deserved.
