The Moes will be hoping to progress to the furthest stage in their history with a win on Saturday

Loughborough Dynamo continue their Buildbase FA Trophy journey this weekend as they host Bedford Town, and we looked back at some classic Moes clashes in the competition.

Loughborough Dynamo 6-3 Kidsgrove Athletic – 18/10/14

After a fast start to the season in the league, Dynamo turned their attention to the FA Trophy with an intention of reaching the next round against Kidsgrove. They did just that, romping to victory in a nine-goal thriller. Nat Watson gave The Moes the lead early on before the visitors equalised through John Edgerton. Watson struck again and Smithson added to the score line before Chris Smith’s finish and an Edgerton strike ensured the game was level at three apiece. But Smithson added another two goals to complete his hat-trick, before Brad Munn netted to put the gloss on an impressive win at Nanpantan Sports Ground.

Loughborough Dynamo 5-2 Market Drayton Town – 29/09/18

Looking to follow up a 6-0 demolition of Sheffield FC four days prior, Dynamo began the game against Market Drayton slowly and found themselves two down. Charles Knowles and Martin Ballard struck for the visitors to put them into a commanding position, but a remarkable 19-minute spell was the difference on the day as The Moes scored all five goals within a quarter of the game to turn the games on its head. Karl Demidh netted a spectacular hat-trick, while Liam Read bagged a brace to send them through to the next round, but their run ended with a replay defeat to Leek.

Loughborough Dynamo 1-0 Bury Town – 17/10/20

On route to reaching the Third Qualifying Round of this season’s competition, Dynamo beat Bury, and even though there was the solidarity goal in it, it was one of the best performances of the campaign to date. The Moes dominated the match throughout, creating numerous opportunities to score and on another day it would’ve been more. Carl Sibson and Jack Smith both had headers cleared off the line, while Curtis Burrows struck the post late on. But it was Alex Steadman’s dramatic last-gasp strike which proved the difference between the sides, sending them to face Bedford in the next round.
