The Gaffer’s reaction from Chasetown victory

Loughborough Dynamo manager Lee Attenborough felt that his side deserved to gain a first away league win of the season following the 1-0 victory at Chasetown.

Max Bardsley-Rowe’s first-half strike sealed a vital three points for Dynamo at The Scholars Ground and Attenborough was delighted with their efforts.

He said: “I’m delighted with today’s result. It is nothing short of what we have deserved, purely for the work we’ve put it and the way we saw out the last 20 minutes from a defensive point of view.

“It is nice to get a clean sheet as well, but more importantly just to get that monkey off our backs of not getting results on the road.”

“Hopefully that’s the confidence boost we need to kick on. We are in 12th place and we still feel like we haven’t got anywhere near going yet - there’s still another two gears for us to find. So hopefully the second half to the season can be a very good one for us.

“The second half became frantic and we looked desperate to get the result. I’d like a bit more composure from the players but they are human and it was a sign of how much they wanted that result.

“On reflection, our keeper has only made one save and a neutral would probably have said the result never looked in doubt but obviously for us, with what happened last week conceding in the 95th minute against Stamford to only take a point, we knew the game was never out of sight at 1-0.

“It’s a great feeling to be able to go into a home game off the back of a win for the first time this season and I’m looking forward to having a real go over the next few months.”
