Sunday saw Lower Hopton ladies take on West Yorkshire Police men's team in charity football match to raise some money for a local young lady, Megan Jenkinson.
Although the match result went against the ladies the day was a huge success. On the day we managed to raise £700 from entry fees to come and watch, a raffle which had prizes donated from a few local businesses and also from refreshments sold on the day.
Lower Hopton would like to thank everyone involved in making the day, West Yorkshire police for agreeing to play the ladies, Megan and her family for making the trip down to the game, all the supporters who dug deep and made generous donations through the day and also on the Just Giving page (please see the link below which will finish at the end of this week) and also Premier League referee Martin Atkinson who took time out of his busy schedule to officiate the match.
