Top performance from the Blacks

The U11s Black squad travelled to Wakefield Jets again for an early Saturday friendly. The games between these two sides are always great to watch and this one proved no different

The first quarter was reasonably quiet with both sides unable to get into a rhythm.

The deadlock was broken just before the end of the first quarter when Brajan poked home following a goal mouth scramble

The second quarter started very brightly with the pinks playing some great football and brajan soon got his second after a great header from Kostas sent him clean through and he slotted home with a cool left footed finish

Kostas was the provider again for the 3rd when he stabbed the ball to Lucas who finished first time

The 3rd quarter started fast with Lucas assisting bobby for his first and the pinks 4th

The home side then clawed 2 great goals back against the run of play. The pinks didn’t let their heads drop and quickly regrouped and got their reward with arguably their best goal of the season. The ball was played out wide to Bobby who played a great pass through the middle to brajan. Brajan laid it off neatly to Lucas who place the ball in the corner for his second.

The next one soon followed as bobby scored a fantastic solo goal to put the game beyond a battling Wakefield side to make it 6-2

Lucas then competed his hat trick with a well taken finish going in to the final quarter

After a reshuffle in the 4th quarter Mackenzie got on to the scoresheet taking his impressive recent form to 6 in as many games

As usual, jack and Jacob worked tirelessly in the middle with William, Evie and Alex solid at the back

Harley wasn’t called into action much but made some fine saves when needed

Confidence is growing week on week and you can tell the enjoyment factor is playing a big part in that as we build for next months tour against some top sides

Thanks to Tony and Wakefield Jets as always and we look forward to the league game tomorrow!
