Lutterworth U16 Girls travelled to Ashby to face All Macs in a County League match, looking to build on last week’s impressive victory — and they did exactly that.

From the opening kick-off, Lutterworth set the tone with high intensity and were rewarded with the first try inside five minutes. Three further tries followed in the first half, all converted by Evie, giving the visitors a commanding 28–0 lead at the break. The first period showcased Lutterworth strength in defense, with organized pressure, strong tackling and quick line speed shutting down All Macs’ attacking threats.
The second half continued in much the same fashion, with excellent passing out wide and effective support play creating further scoring opportunities. Lutterworth added four more tries, with Evie converting two of them.
To their credit, All Macs battled until the final whistle and were rewarded with a try of their own. Unfortunately, two injuries to their forwards led to the game moving to uncontested scrums, with both sides then reducing numbers to 14-a-side and eventually 13-a-side for the closing stages.
One area for Lutterworth to improve upon is the number of penalties conceded at the ruck, which ultimately resulted in a yellow card. The squad will no doubt focus on this in training, aiming to maintain discipline while keeping their defensive intensity.
This was an outstanding team performance, and it was particularly pleasing to see a full 15-player starting line-up plus four strong replacements eager to make an impact. The girls continue to demonstrate not only their skill, but also humility, respect for opponents, and appreciation for the match officials. The referee even commented after the game how much he had enjoyed the match and congratulated our “fabulous young players”.
