Lutterworth U16s county campaign begins this weekend with our opening league game against Melkham Girls.
With some really good testing games already played u16s players are ready for the game this Sunday and to welcoming formidable opponents Melkham. Spectators can look forward to a competitive display of rugby especially as both teams have a rich crop of talented players, some of whom are on the early steps of the player pathway.
The Women’s Rugby World Cup of 2025 has undoubtedly had a positive effect on community rugby for Women’s and Girls teams, no more so than in Leicestershire where for the first year we have formal County Cup competitions running for both Women and girls.
For Girls Rugby we welcome the new league competition for u16s and u18s. The format is for all club teams to play each other once (draw determining home or away), with the final league placings determining who plays who for Cup, Plate and Bowl on final’s day in March.
Festival events are also underway for U14s and u12s teams with some including u9/10 girls festival pitch up and play opportunities. Lutterworth is proud to have players across all age groups having plentiful opportunities to play throughout the 25/26 season and do welcome new players each week. Please get in touch if you would like to know more about playing opportunites.
We are still keen to recruit more volunteers to help grow the girl’s game. If you are interested, please get in touch or pop down and speak with us this Sunday!
