Improved performance with all contributing

Lutterworth u15s again !!! went on their travels - this time to Market Harborough keen to show improvements from last weeks performance.

I am sure the coaches requested a good strong start but after only 3 minutes Harborough managed to conjure enough room for their speedy winger to score a try under the posts that was easily converted.
Lutts struck back immediately and after securing good ball at the maul Dan Glasse was able to cut inside to score reducing the deficit to 2 points.
This was followed by competitive play by both teams until the 18th minute when again after securing good ball at the ruck Dan was able to score his second try utilising the same gap.
Harborough managed to score themselves close to half time when loose forward play allowed a score in the corner.

HT Market Harborough 12 Lutterworth 10

The second half begin exactly the same as the first with another early Harborough try for the winger.
This in recent weeks would have resulted in the boys heads going down but this week was different and after a tight period of play Jacob Garnett managed to find space and when quickly recycled saw Matt Croft score in the corner.
Harborough again managed to score a try and further extended their lead when the speedy winger completed his hat trick extending Harborough's lead to two scores with less than 10 minutes to play.
But this only made Lutterworth more determined and good play saw Joe Johnson driving straight into the opponents 22 resulting in a penalty when Harborough infringed at the ruck. A tap penalty saw Redmond Harrison cross the line and Dan Glasse adding the extras to brings the team within a score and four minutes left to play.
Straight from the kick off Lutts secured ball and what followed was the try of the season with Jacob Garnett breaking through a tiring defence, then realising he was going to be caught popped a pass to Red who ran unopposed to score under the posts. Dan Glasse drop kicked the conversion and to the surprise of nearly all the referee indicated that the boys were 2 points ahead. Both teams knowing this threw caution to the wind and the next 2 minutes were frenetic with a last ditch try saving tackle made on the flying winger. The forwards were then able to get enough bodies on the ball causing Harborough to infringe allowing Dan to kick the ball into touch and claim the win.

The game and effort saw a much improved performance from recent weeks - Louis Beighton finding himself at outside centre, Both James Smith and George West performing well at scrum half. Michael Ball and then George Finch doing well at full back and all the forwards giving a good account of themselves - particularly George Whalley who had his strongest game since the start of the season.

In all honesty the game was a draw and was acknowledged to the coaches of Harborough, but, you play to the referee the score recorded particularly given that the boys were on the wrong side of a lot of close calls not in a position his final tally !!!!!
