Lee and Lardy –
LF – Lee was delighted with the performance adding “very pleased, you can only play what is in front of you and we did just that. We kept to our plan of high intensity play with pace, to move the ball at every occasion and deserved our big score. Today we were playing more as a unit, supporting each other and totally dominated the line out and set pieces. Our defence was excellent but it was our patience that was most pleasing, as we got points virtually every time we were in the scoring zone. It was difficult in the second half to keep the same intensity being so far ahead but we continued to score some good try’s, however but for some over-elaborate play on times we would surely have passed 100 points.
Overall considering we had to make a number of changes in payers and positions it was a very solid performance against a big pack, some good displays in the backs and players gaining in confidence to offload in the tackle. We are playing great rugby now and that’s 4 wins in a row and I will be challenging the players to win our final two games”
DE – “A great result, even though they are bottom of the table it’s still a local derby so had the potential of a ‘banana skin game’ for us. We were expected to win but it’s a constant battle at present to get 18 fit players with all the injuries and again we had to make changes that could have upset our rhythm. We managed the game from the off, conceding nothing and making numerous turn overs which was a real positive so were able to dominate in all areas of the pitch. Our pack played some of our best rugby of the season we created loads of chances and got crucial scores to always keep the scoreboard moving. I felt all 18 played well today and we were in total ascendance for all of the game. We played some good controlled rugby using our strong forwards, spinning the ball on the right occasions creating loads of opportunities and basically our free running backs ran the opposition ragged. With only minor injuries reported it was good news so we can move on to focus on winning our remaining fixtures.
To win by such a huge score does not come long often so nice to see our Players, Team Management and Supporters celebrating with a well-deserved after match swill”
