Once again Maidenhead Hockey Club were honoured to be hosting the U10's In2Hockey Tournament in conjunction with Berkshire Hockey and to welcome our "retired" Head of Colts Jim Thompson, back to the pitch to ensure the smooth running of the competition, although the rain did decide to come through before the end of the girls tournament.
Our U18's Boys assisted with the setting up of the gazebos, umpiring and also the selling of refreshments with a huge £150 going in the Easter tour fund. Thank you to all the parents that donated cakes and biscuits - you generosity was so appreciated and kept the adults and children going.
Maidenhead U10's had 3 teams in the competition, with the boys team competing in the early morning session and 2 teams of girls later on. The Coaches were so pleased with how they all worked so hard together on a larger pitch format, the boys wearing face masks for the first time and in particularly how well all our goalie's did against some strong opposition. In particular Luke had only put on a goalie kit for the second time and deserves an extra special "Well done".
We have only 3 more weeks of the season and look forward to next Sunday when we hope to have lots of game play, working on where they like to play on the pitch, short corners and of course having some fun.
We have popped some other images on to the U10's part of the website if you would like to view, click here.
