The first few matches since Christmas have presented their challenges, however, scores are becoming more an more respectable. Why?...more team members training, staying a team - passing more regularly, and whatever extra pounds that were put on over Christmas have been shed - well, by most!!
The team would freely admit that they were almost prepared for a different result on this match, particularly given the strength of the Eastcote team in our first match against them. Interestingly there were quite a few of their team not present in the second match! Certainly some of the strong Eastcote players, demonstrating memorable performance were conspicuous by their absence. It was also noticeable that the atmosphere on pitch was more decent than normal. Confirmed by one of the players at the end of the match, with whom I was chatting. His words "some of the a-holes that normally play, weren't available, so it was a nicer game all around" ;-)
Sadly our Max took a tumble on his ankle 5 minutes before the final whistle, resulting in quite a bad sprain, taking him out of matches for 5-6 weeks - we will miss your talent Max!!
