We're back!
The MTFC Legends game has now become the biggest day in the MTFC calendar! This year will be bigger than ever with all 3 current MTFC teams, along with our MTFC Legends in action on Saturday 16th September at Desborough Park! Then, the standard drink-up at Boyne Hill Cricket Club with games for the children, BBQ, raffle and 'special prize' auction! Here's the idea...
12.00 MTFC Reserves v MTFC 'A'
13.00 MTFC Legends v MTFC
16.00 Boyne Hill Cricket Club onwards
Wow. What a festival of football! We'll have refreshment stands, match programmes, a selection of your finest kits on show and a pedigree of player second to none. Ish.
Why I hear you cry? This is why...
We're raising money for two wonderful causes...a local family trust fund & MacMillan Cancer Support.
Aged just 35, Peter Miles lost his battle with illness in December 2015. Peter was a close friend to many at the club, a founding player to the club and left behind a beautiful young family; wife Becky and Lucy (5) and Alex (3). Half our fund raising will go towards a trust fund for his children to attend university later in life.
Jan Dunne was the mother of another close friend and former player Craig Dunne and our annual Charity event was initiated to raise funds for her sons’ charity challenge, the DC60 Challenge, www.dunnechallenge60.com. Half our fund raising will go towards MacMillan.
We're looking for raffle prizes and gifts, so please get in touch with the club if you would like to support. We need your help, no offer is too big or small. Thank you in advance.
This day is the reason MTFC was created. The reason so many have worked so hard to keep it running. Friends and family. We want YOU to join us, have a great day, have fun, grab a burger (they will be cooked) and enjoy Maidenhead Town Football Club. Whether it's playing, watching, donating or supporting, we want your help and we thank everyone in advance for being part of the day.
Match Previews
With Ben Trillow accepting the challenge of managing the Legends, a stellar cast is already lined up. The Centurions of David Jenkins, Phil Lowe, Gavin Croxford, along with Ben Trillow will all be lining up, alongside such heroes as Craig Dunne, Neil Barker, Joe McKrell, John Jenkins, James Larkin, Marc Boyle, Chris Kenny, Duncan Webber, Chrissy Garraway, James Wickens and maybe a few more recent surprises! It's BT's job to get them ready! We've also possibly got a surprise appearance from someone that played in the blue a few years ago!
The MTFC first team have a new gaffer, Nigel Wright, who will be keen to continue the winning habit from last season. Several new players are involved in MTFC this term including Jake Brooks and the boys will be itching to emulate Beck's goal antics from last term. Will the atrractive ex-boss Beck make that 8 minute appearance?
Tom Minter has moulded a bunch of scallys into a strong TVPL team. Stalwarts such as Matty Croxford, Matt Clarke, Bobby Chapman, Rob Boden, Scott Cooper, Stevie Newell and Jonny Palmer-Smith have been joined by new starlets who are looking to enjoy the MTFC way.
The new 'A' team is a mix of last seasons MTFC Youth & new faces. Manager Beck is bringing together a team to develop into the Senior sides and the team on the day will be packed with 16-19 year olds, all developing into adult football. One to watch...
So there we are. MTFC Legends Day. We want your help. We need your time. We'd love you to join us.
Thank you.
