The Good, the Bad and the Ugly...
The Stripes are playing the month-by-month game again, right? August great, September not so much, October? Electric! Well two very different months have kicked off the season and, in truth, the last one wasn’t one to write home about. No wins and four losses may not look convincing but let’s remember this time last year concerns were creeping in.

What about the others in September?
You may not have heard but Yeovil are making some noise. They won six from six last month, seven in a row now. Barrow haven’t been bad either - five straight wins in September is their best run for 51 years. Boreham Wood striker Kabongo Tshimanga also managed to score six times but the only other winless club was Woking, with big hitters Stockport County and Wrexham winning only once in their six - the same as fancied Solihull Moors.

Magpies high point?
The fantastic early September display at Wrexham - Josh Smile’s sizzler may have closed the Goal of the Season competition five weeks in!

Star performer...
It’s never easy when not winning matches but Shamir Fenelon and Josh Smile had some good moments.

Stat attack:
A lot of September was about fine margins. Last month saw the team let in nine goals in their six games and score four. No clean sheets and scoring less than a goal a game are the things to put right in October.

How do things compare to last September?
Not favourably! Maidenhead racked up three wins a year ago and ten points from the club’s seven matches. August, of course, was much improved in comparison.

[b]Attendance watch:
A healthy 3,693 watched the three home matches last month - the club’s average now sits at 1,311 for the season.

What does October look like?
With three home games - FC Halifax, AFC Fylde and Solihull Moors - and two away trips which against teams in the bottom half in Eastleigh and Ebbsfleet, Dev will think there are certainly points to be won.
