8. Old websites

Rather than let the old websites disappear, they are still available in the ethernet.

The original website was developed back in 2003. For those of you with an interest, it was basically a static website which made expansion and development difficult. It was taken over by Steve Drew who continued to update it until 2005, when the new website was launched. The original website can still be viewed in all it's glory at the following link:

The second website was based on the Content Management System XOOPS which was is based on MYSQL and PHP. The website was much more scalable and was used continuously up to November 2011. In that time it survived being hacked by Anti-Israeli Hackers, who put up a series of obscenities and Anti-Zionist slogans. Quite what they had against the Corries I don't know, but we managed to get the website back on track. Later on, server upgrades by the webhost knocked out much of the functionality (such as photos). As a result the decision was to move to a football dedicated platform, which has now happened.
The second website can still be found here: http://old.maindy.co.uk
