Following Tuesday's defeat against Hashtag United, Maldon & Tiptree Football Club can confirm with great regret, the departure of Paul Abrahams.

Having been appointed permanent manager of the Jammers in the summer of 2022 after taking over on an interim basis in February, Abrahams has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect following a poor run of results in the league.

Coincidently, Paul's first game in charge for the club was against Hashtag United.

Speaking on Paul's departure, Chairman Jerry Carter said "Paul has worked tirelessly for the club and has certainly had his fair share of bad luck. I'm sad that Paul's tenure hasn't been a successful one and now we must look forward. I wish Paul and his family all the best for the future and thank him for everything he has given to the club."

Paul has worked the football club for a long period of time and all of the volunteers and helpers at Park Drive would like to place on record their thanks to Paul for his hard work, effort and commitment during his time as Assistant Manager and Manager.

Liam Bailey, current Assistant Manager, will take Caretaker charge of First Team matters and will lead the side on Saturday when we travel to Brentwood Town. Liam was previously caretaker boss back in the 2015-16 season taking charge of just one game, following the departure of David Wright.

The club will make no additional comment at this time but will provide further updates as soon as possible.
