The Jammers recorded consecutive wins, courtesy of a two-one win over Barking.

Wayne Brown made two changes to his starting XI from Saturday's win over Brentwood, with Harry Taylor and Laste Dombaxe replaced by John Gilbert and new signing, Emmanuel Martins who made his Jammers debut after joining on loan from Colchester United.

From the first whistle, the Jammers were dominant in possession against a Barking side who appeared content to sit with eleven men behind the ball and counter attack when possible. Like in recent contests, Brown's boys created a host of half chances without capitalising; Lordon Akolbire continued his impressive start to the season, delivering a delicious ball in to the box, however neither Gilbert or Charlee Hughes were able to convert from close range as they appeared to leave the ball to each other.

Continuing down the right flank, Akolbire was generating lots of joy and delivered an inch-perfect cross on to the head of Shomari Barnwell, who planted his header in to the hands of the Goalkeeper. Malachi Napa was next to create a chance, following from fancy footwork, but his shot was blocked by a tackle from behind. Barnwell then went close again, but his shot was blocked by what appeared to be a hand inside the Barking penalty area.

Up the other end, Barking created their only chances of the half in the space of a few minutes. George Purcell's long range swirling shot was well saved by Ted Collins and the rebound was tapped home, however ruled out due to a correct offside call. Moments later, Barking Collins' crossbar, however the Jammers survived with the visitors unable to convert the rebound on this occasion.

Four minutes before half time and Maldon were rewarded with the goal their performance deserved. A forward pass from defender, Joe Turpin was only half-cleared by a Barking defender. The ball landed at the feet of NAPA, who dribbled past his man, in to the penalty box and drilled the ball home in to the back of the net, with a powerful left footed strike to give his side the lead. The Jammers had a chance for a second on the stroke of half-time, smart play from Martins exposed the visiting defence but Hughes and Bradley McClenaghan were unable to take their chances, with the later blasting his effort over the bar from the edge of the box.

HALF TIME: Maldon & Tiptree 1 - 0 Barking

After a positive first half, Brown would have been keen for his side to kick on and score the next goal. However, that wasn't to be as in the 53rd minute, the visitors were awarded an incredibly soft penalty, with Akolbire adjudged to have fouled Purcell in the penalty area. Purcell picked himself up to take the spot kick which was expertly saved by Collins in the Maldon goal, however the ball rebounded back to Purcell, who tucked it home with ease, with Collins left to point the finger at his team mates for not giving him a helping hand.

As the equaliser appeared to unsettle the Jammers for ten or so minutes, the game became a scrappy affair with the visitors looking to slow the game down at every given opportunity. With twenty-two minutes to go, Brown made his first change of the evening as Ifeanyi replaced Gilbert. Barking had a great opportunity to take the lead for the first time on the night, but an superb save from young Collins ensured the game remained level.

Having coming on just nine minutes ago, Ifenayi was having a real impact. Ifeanyi chased down what appeared to be a lost cause, but as Louis Dillon failed to clear the ball for the visitors, Ifeanyi picked his pocket and drove in to the penalty area. Ifenayi's accurate cross landed at the feet of BARNWELL who made no mistake in converting this chance, to record his third goal in four games and putting the Jammers back in front.

Ifenayi continued to create issues for the Barking defenders, who appeared unable to cope with his skillful feet, as he created an opportunity for himself before shooting wide. With minutes remaining, the Jammers defended solidly however gave away what could've been a dangerous freekick in stoppage time. As Barking, including their goalkeeper, camped in the Maldon half, the visitors did create an opportunity however were wasteful as Barney Williams blasted the ball over the bar, ensuring the Jammers recorded back-to-back wins in the league.
