Manchester FC are pleased to announce the re-signing of Ignacio Montoro (“Nacho”) for the 2011/12 season.

Nacho joined Manchester for the 2010/11 season but a shoulder injury in pre-season led to a frustrating season in which appearances were severely limited.

Alicante born Nacho, aged 24, joins us from Spanish club Gernika RT who play in Spain’s premier division. Nacho has also represented Spain at all age groups up to u21’s.

On his thoughts on re-signing for Manchester Nacho said “it’s a pleasure for me re-sign for Manchester Rugby Club. Last season was a really good experience although I missed many games because of my shoulder injury. The next season will be completely different after my surgery and this time I´ll be able to play whole season.
I look forward to playing with the rest of last season’s players and am excited at playing in the back row with Martin Halsall who has just signed for the club and the rest of the new good players that are coming. I would like to say thanks again to Elaine Vassie and Neil Briggs to give me another opportunity to show the player I am.”

On his re-signing Elaine Vassie, Manchester FC Director of Rugby said, “We are delighted that Nacho has chosen to re-sign for Manchester. We know he is a quality player but last season was a frustrating one for both him and the Club as we both know we never saw the best of him. We are very pleased that he has committed to another season and it shows the measure of the man that he has chosen to come back to England to show everyone the player that he is.”
