Manchester FC are pleased to announce the arrival of Martin Halsall for the 2011/12 season.

Blackpool born Martin, aged 26, joins us from Championship side Nottingham. Unfortunately Martin was unable to continue playing in his favoured position of tighthead prop and has joined Manchester where he will play back row.

Martin has an impressive playing cv, having played at Wharfedale, Sedgley Park, Kiwi side Pukehoke and of course recently Sale Sharks.

On his thoughts on joining Manchester Martin said he was looking forward to the challenges of playing National League rugby. In addition to relishing the challenge of converting to back row, Martin is looking forward to the opportunity to develop his own coaching skills alongside ex-Sale playing colleague Neil Briggs and sharing his vast experience with a young but very talented Manchester pack.

On his arrival, Elaine Vassie, Manchester FC Director of Rugby said, “We are obviously pleased to announce the arrival of Martin for the forthcoming season. Martin is a quality rugby player who will be a positive addition in terms of attitude and capability to our squad. We are excited about working with Martin as he develops as a back row.”

More announcements on signings in the pipeline.
