The day started with Shepherd’s Pie in the club before all heading off to the ground.
We stopped by the Shark Tank to see what was going on but the boys grabbed a ball and ran off to the shop!
In the ground we all sat together, not exactly in our allotted seats, and gave our support to the Sale team but the biggest cheer of the day was for Sam James, ex MRC M&J, scoring a great try. James Flynn and Ciaran Parker both came on the field during the game and this made the day, along with the Sale win, perfect for the M&J day out.
After the game the Sam, Ciaran and James came back out of the changing room, signed loads of kit, had photos with all the boys, took selfies and generally chatted with the players. Definitely inspiring the next generation at Manchester M&J.
After the pictures it was back to the Shark Tank for post-match entertainment, and a few dodgy dad dances to the Stone Roses! The boys again took a ball and played rugby outside in the dark! We finally found the coach and headed back to Grove Park to round off a perfect day out.
A fantastic day for all involved. Thanks to Carole for the food, Bullocks for the coaches, Sale Sharks for an excellent game but biggest thanks to Sam James, James Flynn and Ciaran Parker for making it really special for the boys.
The next trip is planned for the spring so watch this space for details.
