Hope you’ve been keeping well and enjoying this strange summer.
The news you’ve all been waiting for – rugby is back this weekend!!.
We are on “Stage D” of the Return to Rugby protocols so we can train with carefully managed contact rugby (in adherence with age grade rugby rulings). We won’t be able to return to inter-club fixtures just yet (managed by government policy and RFU guidance) but at least we are back together and able to train and play in our groups.
Few bits of important information below regarding training:
Please DO NOT come to training if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID19 (including temperature/cough/aching/loss of taste or smell etc.)
Pitch allocation board will be located outside the clubhouse for those unsure where to go.
Important membership information:
Now is the time to start getting membership subscriptions and paperwork sorted. It’s really important that we can get subscriptions in as soon as possible to help us continue to deliver fantastic rugby sessions to the children. The club does NOT have a big financial benefactor and is a members club that is run for and by its volunteer members.
ALL members please print off membership forms and bring in for any of the coaches. Please make sure your payment reference (if by bank transfer) is on your membership form so it can be cross checked.
ALL mini and junior members need to complete the medical/photography forms and return to coaches
NEW members need to complete the RFU registration process.
The membership benefits are multiple and include reduced bar prices!
COVID 19 Precautions:
DON’T come if you’re not well!
A register will be taken for "track and trace" purposes.
Contact training (if applicable) will be limited to 15mins of contact (tackling) per child and will happen in smaller “group bubbles”.
There will be no scrums and rucks will be limited to smaller numbers.
Handwashing/equipment cleaning processes in place.
Please bring named water bottles and hand sanitizer.
In other news:
The club shop will be open on Sunday and lots of gear/equipment available to buy. Online payment preferred.
The bar has been refurbished significantly since last season. The bar layout has been changed to encourage more spacing and the outside area will have a very big (100m2) marquee going up this weekend to accommodate more families safely outside. There is new catering in place and it would be great to see everyone up there after the training for the usual sausage/chips/pop/pint/gin refuel.
The after-game trip to the bar and social interaction is one of the very special things about rugby clubs and it’s a good place for the kids to sit down/muck about with their mates, so do make sure to come along.
