Manchester took Two Teams up to the Sedburgh festival
Team One played the first two games still on the bus. The core skills and plans in place were somehow mislaid and in the first two games the opposition took the spoils. There first two games were not the team we know. Losing to West Park Leeds and Kirkby Lonsdale, so the parents and coaches went looking for the real Manchester U11s and finally found them!
Team One decided they didn't like losing, and after being reminded of a few basics and who they were representing, they decided to turn into Team Two and implement everything we know they can do. Tackle hard, hits rucks low, secure possession and pass the ball to players in space. Games 3 & 4 Manchester were invincible running out clear winners in both games against strong opposition in Macclesfield and Wharfdale (who only conceded 1 try in the 3 games previously to Manchester)
Results were
G1. Manchester 1 - 3 West Park Leeds
G2. Manchester 2 - 5 Kirkby Lonsdale
G3. Manchester 7 - 0 Macclesfield
G4. Manchester 9 - 0 Wharfdale
When these boys play they can really play! More of Team Two please for the rest of the season lads!
All in all (once the boys sorted themselves out on the pitch!) it was a great day out and all the Under 10s and 11s had a great trip up to Sedburgh on the bus. Thanks to Sedburgh for putting on a great day. Thanks to M&J for part funding the coach. Thanks to all the parents for making the trip and thank for the boys who turned up for the last two games!
