After a tough fixture against Waterloo the weekend before, the U11's hosted Ashton on Mersey this Sunday, playing 2 fixtures which ended in a combined score of 18 - 5 in favour of Manchester.
The opening fixture saw the boys take on board the passing game the coaches are encouraging and quickly scored the opening 2 tries. The game then became more competitive with the visitors gaining confidence and putting together some good passages of play. However the Manchester defence held strong and were rewarded with 2 further tries before the away team managed to cross the line.
The second half saw a similar pattern to the first, with the notable exception of new recruit Calum scoring his first try for the club.
The second game was a more tighter affair with the opposition starting stronger and putting pressure on Manchester. However a breakaway try settled he nerves and saw the home team gain in confidence. With a further try scored before half-time the break finished 3-2 to Manchester. The second half saw further tries scored by the home team with the final score of 6-3 perhaps flattering the home side.
Thanks to the opposition, players and parents who were all exposed to the worst weather faced in the season so far!
