2nd International of the season

Due to a bout of very poor communication, unfortunately there isn’t a proper match report this week. So it’s left to me to summarise!
CUS Dublin came to Manchester with a huge squad, numbers of approximately 40 ready to play. Due to variations in the age grades it meant that CUS were going to find the going a bit tough as they were probably 6 months down on each player. The decision was made therefore to play two games, the first of which vs Manchester U 14’s the second against Manchester U 13’s.
The weather was fantastic, a taste of the spring to come (we hope!) and the first XVpitch was in good condition.
Manchester had the advantage through the majority of the game, CUS however showed great spirit and determination throughout the game. For CUS, no tackles were shied away from, running was strong and support from players on the shoulder was good. Manchester through physical size had the advantage and won the first half to nil.
As mentioned CUS did not give up and after a try from Manchester early in the second half, CUS returned fire and scored immediately which was fantastic to see. After the full time whistle was blown, Manchester were 49 – 5 up and victors on the day.
I’d like to say many thanks to CUS Dublin for coming to Manchester playing rugby in great spirit and giving their all during the game, many thanks to their coaches that who brought the lads over to England and supported them in the match on Sunday and without whom the tour could not have taken place. I hope you enjoyed your match on Monday.
Maybe in the future we can return the favour and visit you!
