A useful pre-season run out for both teams

Both teams got something out of this game. The Spartans playing a mixed squad of 1's and 2's player. |Newcastle playing some 1's and a few of their relatively new players. The game was played over 4 x 20 minute quarters to allow each team to play different playing combinations and get new players on in the last quarter of the game.

Newcastle were determined and resilient all through the game as the Spartans had to work hard for their points taking time to breakdown the Ravens defence. AJ and Will scored in the first half with Karlos converting one. Half time 12-0 to the Spartans.

In the 3rd quarter the Spartans had the better of the play and scored 3 try's. Harry with 2 and Will again, Karlos converted 3. The Ravens came back strong in the last quarter and put themselves on the scoreboard with a well worked forwards. Final score 33-5 for the Spartans.

A good afternoon of rugby for both clubs, with a few pints in the clubhouse afterwards. Thank you to Newcastle for travelling to Manchester for the game. Good luck for the new season.
