AFC Totton soak up Mangos pressure and show their clinical finishing differences.

Despite enjoying the majority of the possession during the first half of a extremely wet evening the field found themselves 4-0 down at half time. With a change in goal, and Jakob Glover being given an opportunity to reclaim his position, things unfortunately took a familiar turn when a goal mouth scramble from a corner found the ball in the back of the hosts net within the first ten minutes. The Field could have levelled after just a few minutes from conceding but Dunstan's strike was saved well by the visitors keeper. Two more half chances were created by the field but a lack of clinical action in the box denied the equaliser. A free kick by Humphries in the 23rd minute was tipped over and Beardwell's shot just 4 minutes later screamed wide of the mark. Against the run of play the visitors doubled their lead when Hoey unleashed a 25 yard rocket which left Glover absolutely no chance. An excellent piece of play by Wayne Nderemani in the 33rd minute should have created the opening goal for "The field" but his cross to the far post was glanced away by a defenders header. Things didnt get any better or the hosts as they found themselves 4 down after two quick goals by Totton's Williams who made his hatrick with goals in the 36 and 39th minutes.
The Clinical finishing was by far the difference between the two teams as Mangotsfield had enjoyed the majority of possession and the created the most chances.
The 2nd half followed the same pattern of the first half with Mangos enjoying the better play but their lack of experience in front of goal meant they were unable to reduce the arrears. The final nail in the coffin came in the 87th minute as the ball fell kindly to Waterfield who was able to stoke the ball home from around 12 yards out.
