Bob Smale is "Hanging up his pen" after over 30 years of service.

The Football Club and supporters Club would like to thank Bob Smale for all the hours spent over the last 33 years on producing and editing one of the best football programmes in the Southern League. The first match that Bob watched was in September 1987 when the field, who were in the Western League at that time, drew 1-1 with Southern League club Cheltenham Town in the FA Cup. He started to help with the programme just one season later during the 88/89 campaign and in 1990 the dynamic duo, with his brother David, started in 1990. Dave Smale will take over the helm, with a little bit of help from Bob's nephew Shaun Lecrass.
Furthermore, it is anticipated that "The Field Review" will return to a paper format, albeit with a slightly inferior print quality, for the 2021/22 campaign. The first issue will include a feature an article on Bob Smale.
