Foresters too strong for Mango youngsters

Saturday 22nd February 2020, The BetVictor Southern League – Division One South Att. 121

Cinderford Town…..3 Mangotsfield United…..1

Pushing for a play-off spot, The Foresters were always going to be a stiff challenge for a very young Mangotsfield side. Their comfortable win keeps them just outside, in 8th place.

The hosts started so well, and were ahead after just 11 minutes, when James Harding broke the deadlock.

The Mangos, despite losing their last two away matches closely, struggled to halt Cinderford’s momentum and on the half-hour mark, Blaine Waugh doubled the hosts’ advantage.

It really was a case of ‘game over’ when Liam Angel struck with the second-half just 9 minutes old, and there was just scant consolation for the visitors with an 88th minute penalty, converted by Daniel Mcbeam.
