At the half-way point in the Midlands 4 West South campaign, Park lie second with an impressive eight wins from ten games.
This match against rock-bottom Keresley wasn’t a spectacle of flowing rugby as neither side managed to sustain any patterns of play.
Park were robbed of the talents of Gaz Hammond and Gaz Bennett due to work commitments, forcing a last minute re-shuffle which saw Goode moved from loose-head prop to the back row.
A frustrating first half end scoreless as Keresley scented a first victory of the season against the odds.
The hosts are rebuilding after an exodus of players in the 2011/12 campaign prompted their withdrawal from Midlands 3 West South mid-season.
Despite conceding an average of more than 30 points a game, on occasions Keresley have narrowed the margin of victory showing signs of a revival.
But hopes of a win were snatched away when Goode took a quick tap penalty from close range to claim a poacher’s try.
Park’s captain, in the absence of Charlie Wilson, has now scored seven tries in his last six games.
Lewis Brightmore added a penalty late on, taking his season’s tally to 107, and ensuring a victory for Park on their travels.
Park’s next league match is on January 5 when Coventry Welsh arrive at the Griff and Coton.
