The ladies started the game off optimistically and worked the ball up and around the pitch with ease. With March on the attack, a wayward shot on goal was rescued by Felicity Allen who was the first to beat the keeper. March carried on dominating and were awarded a shorted corner which Louise Roberts chipped over the keeper. Spalding made a breakthrough and scored their first goal. Spalding then took advantage of the drop in morale and managed to score an equaliser.
Shortly after half time, Spalding scored their third goal. March were now desperate to get an equaliser and stepped up their game, once again they were running round the opposition and making great passes between themselves. Captain Hana Howsam avenged her team by scoring the equaliser from a well drilled short corner routine. The team carried on the momentum and Carly Stevenson dribbled up the pitch, gliding around players and scoring the fourth goal. With spirits still high, Louise Roberts was able to score her second goal of the day. With less than ten minutes to go, after a small altercation, both teams were down to ten players. Whilst March's defence managed to hold the opposition off, Spalding did not, allowing Sarah Hussey to score the final goal of the game.
Louise Roberts was awarded Player of the Match.
