Tonight we kick off our 2019/20 Gwent Central Division 1 campaign against local team Forgeside. This will be a tough test for our boys as Forgeside finished 4th in Gwent Central 1 and will be hoping to maintain a strong stance in the league.
We as a club are looking for a solid start capitalising on the success of last year after gaining promotion and winning the Benevolent Cup. Its been a good pre-season for the boys so far with a few mixed results but also bedding in a lot of new boys who have come to the club hungry for success. In this pre-season we have seen many new faces join the club as well as returning players.
The club has been boosted with the return of Matthew Wham who last appeared for the club in the 2015/16 season, the club has also welcomed backed Callen Gregory (aka Crouchy), who previously played for the club in Gwent County 3 . We were also delighted to have Tom Copeland back at the club after having a break from football last year and Gareth Williams who has recently returned to us after playing for Raglan Last year.
The club has also had many new faces join the club including Dan Richards, Jordan Wright and Stuart Van De Vyver from Bailey Rangers, Henry Rodwell from Crickhowell, Logan Hamer, Robbie Lewis and Oliver Vaughan from Abergavenny Town, Matthew Davis from Gilwern as well as Nathan Jones and Aaron Faulkner who have joined us from today's opponents Forgeside.
As well as the boys from last season successful 2018/19 season we are hoping to have 2 very competitive squads.
