'Three Wins From Our Last Four Games'

Saturday 23rd November 2019 saw us on our travels for our 'Away Fixture' versus Glossop North End; we were looking to bounce back from our harsh defeat in the game versus Stamford.

The squad had been strengthened this week by the signings of Ethan Stanton, Zak Hill and Mitchell Glover - full details can be found under a separate news item.

These signings could not have been better timed, as we were without the services of Ethon Varian and Mohamed Akandi who played for Stoke City earlier in the day.

Several changes were therefore required to the team lineup with Ash Rawlins returning to take his place in goal and Ash was also appointed Captain. I don't think we have fielded the same lineup this season in any two back to back games.

We secured the three points with a fine 84th minute goal from in form Christoph Yao AZiamale.

We have now won three of our last four games; fantastic results considering our first eleven games we were only able to gain 3 points out of a possible 33.

  • 3 Wins from 4
  • 3 Away wins
  • 2nd 'Clean Sheet'
  • 9 Points since Slap returned

Here are a few quotes:
"An unbelievable result for MDTFC today. Great attitude and the perfect away performance today. Get in" (Nick)
"Fantastic away performance. 3 wins in 4 games and a welcome clean sheet. We move on." (Dan)
"Magic our Maurice, brilliant news on the road, fantastic result, well done MDTFC" (Nick)

It has been reported that two of the Management Team fell on their faces celebrating Christoph's goal - guess who?

There was a mixed bag of results at the bottom of the Table; we are now elevated to the giddy heights of 17th with a total of 12 points.

Following the decision of some senior players to ply their football trade elsewhere it has been a huge curve in rebuilding the squad; I do feel however that we are now on the verge of creating an exciting squad of very talented young players.

  1. Ash Rawlins (Capt
  2. Connor Russo
  3. Myles Arnold
  4. Tyrell MacFarlane
  5. Zak Hill
  6. Ethan Stanton

  9. Christoph Yao Aziamale
  10. Joe Thomas
  11. Kevin Buxton

  • Levi Hunter
  • Mitchell Glover
  • Dan Stevens
  • Martyn Davies
  • Conor Hughes

A reminder that we are at 'Home' on Saturday 30th November for our League game versus Stocksbridge Park Steels; what better way to spend Saturday afternoon that watching this exciting young team.
