In the quarter finals, the U12s were drawn against their Cup final opponents from last year, Syston. Syston got off to a good start and scored the first try. That left MH with the challenge of scoring two tries to be able to progress through to the semi-final of the Cup competition. Despite a spirited second half comeback, MH were unable to penetrate the Syston defence and lost the game 2-0.
The lads faced Hinckley in the semi-final of the Bowl. Again, it was a good competition between the two forward packs and both sides struggled to get the ball out to their packs. However, MH did finally get their centres involved and scored a good try, that was to remain the difference between the teams at the end of the game.
The final was against Lutterworth. Both teams played some great rugby and again, it was the forwards who saw most of the ball. Despite a few half breaks, MH could not get through the opposition defence. The game ended up a draw, so both clubs shared the Bowl.
The Cup final was also shared between Syston and Oakham, giving an indication as to how close the different clubs are within the county.
