National TDG success for Under 18s Girls

Having represented Leicestershire and the Midlands U15 team over the past 2 seasons, Tabitha Copson has been selected for the Midlands Talent Development Group Under 18s and also the National Under 18s TDG. Tabitha had her first training camp in August at RAF Halton, near Aylesbury where she trained with the National Under 18s 7's squad and with England coaches. Of the 40 TDG players at this camp, 50% are expected to play for England Seniors in the next couple of years although at only 15 Tabitha is a little further away from this honour just yet!

One of Harborough more versatile players Tabitha has played in both forward and backs positions covering scrum half, 8 and centre over the past couple of seasons even occasionally playing second row as injury cover. As she moves into Under 18s rugby this year she hopes to achieve her aim of playing openside flanker.

Recognised as a ferocious tackler, even referees have been heard to comment 'I wouldn't like to be on the receiving end of that!' as Tabitha tackles yet another opposition player to the ground.

All the girls coaches are very proud of Tabitha and her achievement and hope this is the start of a long and successful career in rugby
