Harborough Colts played some of their best rugby to date to overcome visitors Southam. From the start they dominated play despite facing a very big pack. With the forwards providing a solid platform, led by captain for the day, Timmy Waterfield, the back line showed some real class with some outstanding tries. The first came from Jon Mundy after a move involving the entire back line. This was followed by a scintillating break by Harvey Slade who scythed through the Southam defence to touch down under the posts for a try converted by Connor Bond. A third try came from centre Joel Nance who showed his speed, strength and determination to run through despairing tackles from the 10 metre line and touch down near the posts. The conversion was missed in the difficult conditions but this gave Harborough a comfortable 17-0 lead at half time. Harborough brought on their substitutes at half time with both Bond and Nance being forced to leave the field but they were still too strong for Southam. The visitors did dominate territory in the second half as Harborough relaxed but the only score came from the excellent Mundy with the conversion by Iain Barnett making the final score 24-0 to Harborough and a commendable third clean sheet in a row.
