The under 9's played at Melton RFC in the preliminary round of the Leics County Cup, in what can only be described as good old British Autumn weather. Despite the conditions, Harborough were in deadly form.
They faced three opponents, first-up being their hosts Melton.
Thomas Kimble started the scoring, followed by Oliver Bunce. A great pick up by Harry Slaughter resulted in a try for him, Harley Williams added another followed by Harry Slaughter again. Further scores were added by Bunce (3), Slaughter, Eastwood, Hepworth and Green. Melton scored a late consolation, leaving Harborough the victors 12 tries to one.
Next up were Oakham. Harborough scored 6 tries, four of which were scored by Harry Slaughter, another for Bunce and William Milne. A couple of scores for Oakham saw Harborough again the victors, 6:2
Final opponents were Oadby Wyggs. Wyggs were unable to breach the Harborough defence. Harborough’s attack however saw them score eleven tries, Kimble, Bradnam, Bunce, Eastwood, Walsh and milne all scoring, plus 2 for Max Fletcher and a hatrick for Noah Green. Oadby Wyggs 0:11 Market Harborough
