Gallimore goal determines the outcome and sees Blues through.

With one eye on Monday's home league game against local rivals Chalfont St. Peter and a couple of key players unavailable manage Mark Bartley fielded a slightly different line-up to that seen in the opening two league games of the season to date and resisted the urge to use his bench as much as possible to have fresh legs available for that other game 48 hours after. Young Nico Cammock made his Marlow debut with both Leslie Sackey and Kelvin Bossman both making late appearances for their first outings of the competitive season.

The home side spent quite a bit of the early play in the Marlow end of the pitch but without seriously asking too many questions of the Marlow defence and as it turned out it was the Blues who broke the deadlock following an Allen Bossman corner in the 16th minute which was won by the head of Calam Gallimore who diverted the ball into the top corner via the top of the head of a defender on the line for what proved to be the only score of an otherwise disappointing match.

Two minutes after Simon Grant was forced into a full-length save to push a free kick from Ben Willoughby around his left-hand post for what proved to be the only opportunity of the half for the home side although to be fair Marlow did not create much at the other end either as both sides played much of the game in the air.

Seven minutes into the second period some fine control from Charlie Samuel was followed by a fierce shot which the home keeper just managed to push around his right-hand post to keep the deficit to just a single goal whilst at the other end Grant somehow managed an amazing close-range reaction save to deny Jamie Galvin in the 71st minute with Alex Salmon clearing the follow-up by putting the ball behind over his own bar.

A spate of cards were flourished with Luke Peerless seeing 2 of them in the dying minutes which meant Kidlington finished the game with a player short and compounding their misery.
