A great last match before Xmas!

It was a cold, dark afternoon when the match took place, it was running late because one of the umpires in a previous match was injured somehow.

The match started off strongly with a short corner in the first 44 seconds which unfortunately went wide but then there was an amazing interception by Lou, who passed to Tracey to score our first goal in the first minute.

1-0 up and we were strong; passing across goal but with no-one on the receiving end. At 18 minutes we won a short corner and quickly got on those deflections with Amelie scoring the second goal. Very soon after, at 22 minutes, there was another short corner and Tracey increased the score to 3-0. But then Abingdon attacked, and we missed some tackles which led to a 3-1 score. We were determined and at 30 minutes Anya scored a goal flicking it over the keeper with an assist from Tracey.

Although we were 4-1 up at half-time, we were reminded by Emma that we should go out as if it is 0-0 and to be aggressive. It took a while to get going again but we won a short corner from which Colette did a wonderful reverse hit but there was sadly no result. At 22 minutes, Tracey returned the favour, passing to Lou who scored with a flick into goal!

Colette did some amazing play winning the ball at any opportunity. With Caitlin and Amelie stopping Abingdon from attacking from the wing, Bri and Emma keeping them outside of the D. Tracey being high, and receiving the high balls, played with Lindsay in the middle distributing the ball across the pitch. As a perfect finish Emma T scored with a slap at 28 minutes to make the final score 6-1!
