A spirited comeback from Garsington earned them a well deserved point on Saturday.

A very youthful Garsington first team started this fixture much more brightly than Saints, they looked as though they wanted the ball more and constantly put the Saints players under pressure on the ball. Saints struggled to find their rhythm in the first half with complacency playing a major factor, so it was only fitting that Garsington took a well deserved lead following a quick break down the right,, the cross came in and when the Saints defence failed to clear the close range shot ricocheted off keeper Lewis Wild to put Garsington 1-0 up at the break.
Ronnie Williams must have had some stern words for his players at half time, because Saints looked a different side at the start of the second half. The passing was quick and accurate and Garsington were chasing shadows, a delightful move involving Sean Jacob, Tomas Parker and Luke Cuff ended with Tomas Parker netting two minutes from the restart. Buoyed by this Saints soon found themselves on the attack again and when Luke Cuff spread the ball wide for Guy Swain on the left, he ran into the box and hit his shot from an acute angle inside the far post. It looked as though Saints were about to run riot and begin a goal fest, but, more chances went begging.
Sean Jacob, Eddie Parker and Josh West then made way for Craig Bloomfield, James Robins and Ben Green. While Saints had more of the possession it was again a case of chances missed, Garsington then made changes themselves and seemed to get a second wind. They had a belief that they could get something from this game and so it proved late on, when after some sustained pressure they earned themselves a corner. Asthe ball came in a Garsington player rose highest to get a header towards goal, defender James Robins managed to get his head to the ball, but this just deflected the ball onto the crossbar and the rebound hit keeper Wild on the back to end up in the back net and earn a well deserved point for Garsington, although Saints will feel that this was very much a case of two points dropped.
