It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of club stalwart Ray Williams.
By Mark Packard
Ray was one of the few honorary life members of the club.
A member of the club for over 50 years he played for all the senior sides from 1st XV to Vets. We will remember Ray as a fine hooker and first team player. When his playing time was over Ray remained a dedicated supporter on the touchline. Ray was a prolific tourer with the club, and loved the social side of the game, the after match singing and making friends for life. He was a brilliant host of the White Lion pub where we had many memorable nights after both victories and defeats and he was a great supporter of the legendary annual Pub 7s. Ray loved life and despite his later health problems he still lived it with a smile on his face. His great sense of humour and friendship to all will be sorely missed. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family at this most difficult of times.
