Don't miss the start to the new season - it will be great to see all the junior players there on Sunday. New players welcome!

Welcome to the new season at Matlock Rugby Club. We hope you and your family are all well and we look forward to seeing you all back down at the club on Sunday mornings. The past few months have been a challenge for us all but it will be great to get back to playing rugby again.

As a club, we obviously must adhere to the government restrictions, but we are also governed by our governing body, England Rugby. England Rugby have issued their ‘Return to Rugby Roadmap’ which is a staged return to rugby (we are currently at stage D) https://www.englandrugby.com/dxdam/3a/3a62def4-99e4-4e6a-a6b8-f4468c958e0b/RUGBY%20ROAD%20MAP%20VF.pdf

This lays down regulations that all clubs must adhere to when youngsters return to training in a couple of weeks’ time. When rugby starts you will see that training will be quite different, there will be no contact in the first few weeks. As the season progresses, it is expected that England Rugby will move through the stages and it is hoped that soon we can return to rugby as we know it.

We want all 270 youngsters down training on a Sunday morning , but to facilitate this we have to stagger training on Sunday mornings as follows:
First Session: 9.45 – 11.00
Under 11 -Railway Pitch
Under 8- Clubhouse Pitch
Under 9 -Clubhouse Pitch
Under 6 -First Team Pitch
Under 10 -First Team Pitch
Under 7 -First Team Pitch
Under 12 -Training Pitch

Second Session: 11.30 – 1.00
Under 13 -Railway Pitch
Under 16 -Clubhouse Pitch
Under 15 -First Team Pitch
Under 14 -Training Pitch
Girls training - Sunday afternoon

We realise that some families have youngsters in different age groups and this may cause some issues, but please understand we cannot accommodate every child in a family to attend at the same time.

Other things to note:
1. First Session – you can arrive early for this session. However, once it is finished please leave the Meadows promptly as cars will be arriving for the second session at about 11.15. 2. Second Session – Please do not arrive early. Arrive from about 11.15.
3. When you arrive please walk directly to your allocated pitch – do not hang around the clubhouse entrance.
4. Showers and changing rooms will be closed. Arrive, changed and ready to train. Bring a track suit to cover your dirty kit for the journey home.
5. Toilets will be open.
6. Hand sanitiser will be on hand.
7. The clubhouse will be closed except for registrations and the collection and purchase of kit. There will be a one way system in operation.
8. In the first week or two there will be no refreshments. We will reconsider this again after a week or two has passed.
9. You should have received an invite to register your child and pay your child’s membership fee. This system will operate as normal.
10. Parents, please come down and stay on Sunday - but please social distance on the sideline.
