This weekend sees the first league fixture of the season with a home game against North Hykeham. The Lincolnshire side travel to #TheVale on the back of a good campaign last time out. Finishing 6th, and well cemented in the top half the table, Meden Vale faired poorly against Hykeham last season. Similar to this years league season, the teams met in September, with the opposition running away with the game 19-73, with an even worse result away as Meden were unable to field a side, something which this years team will endeavour not to happen!

We can only thank the local community for their support over the last couple of months with fantastic support home and away, lets keep this up with a large crowd to welcome the lads to the new season. Could we please ask that spectators stand behind the rope for their own safety and the safety of those around them, this would be much appreciated by the club officials.

Head Coach, Owen Taylor, has made some forced changes, fortunately through availability rather than injury. Callum Murphy, Danny Davies and Chris Hawkins come in to bolster the front row after last weeks domination of the East Retford Scrum. The back line remains unchanged, with some small tweaks to the pack behind the front three. Last week saw some great rugby being played, with The Vale leading the game at half time. A promising start to the season, with a solid performance against what will likely be a top 4 side come the end of the year.
