What’s On This Weekend at Mellish RFC?

We’re heading into Week 4 of the season with a busy weekend of rugby action at Mellish RFC! Whether you're lacing up your boots or cheering from the sidelines, there’s something for everyone at the club this weekend.

Saturday Spotlight – 2XV Take Centre Stage

Fresh off a strong win against Southwell, our 2XV squad gears up for their final friendly before league play kicks off next week with a trip to Lincoln. They’ll face Nottingham Casuals at the War Memorial Ground in what promises to be a competitive clash. Casuals are always a strong and will also be looking to build momentum ahead of their opening league fixture.

Saturday – Women’s World Cup Final on the Big Screen

Join us at the clubhouse for the Women’s World Cup Final! With England making a thrilling run to the final, we’ll be showing the match live on the Big Screen. Kick-off is at 4:00 PM – bring your mates, grab a pint, and soak up the atmosphere.

Sunday Morning – Minis Training

From 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, our Minis continue their season prep. All children, regardless of experience, are welcome to join in the fun and learn the game in a friendly, inclusive environment.

Sunday Fixtures – Junior Rugby in Full Swing

U13s – Away at Tupton. A key match as the squad continues their transition from Mini to Junior rugby.

U14s – Home vs Belper (NLD Cup). The team is looking to kick off their cup defence in style after recent wins over Scunthorpe, Newark, and Southwell.

U15s – Away to local rivals Paviors RFC. Expect a physical battle as the team aims to extend their winning streak following recent victories against Derby and Bingham.

U16s are back at Mellish for training this weekend after a narrow defeat to Ashfield last time out.

If you’re free this weekend, come down to Mellish RFC and show your support. Every cheer counts, and the clubhouse is always buzzing with good vibes and great rugby. See you there!
