Boys run in 14 tries against Keyworth on a bright sunny day (for once) at the War Memorial ground.

Mellish got back to winning ways with a very convincing win against Keyworth, who were playing their first competitive game of the season on a full size pitch.
The boys played some good flowing rugby today, helped by the physicality of the "pack" which seemed double the size of their opponents!
Winning almost everything that moved in both the Scrum & Ruck, the forwards were able to boss the game from the frontline, giving the backline the freedom to move the ball expansively.....as we have trained to do on so many Wednesday's! WELL DONE for putting into play.
Shaun, the (warrior from Wigan), ran in the first of what was to be seven tries in the first half.
Winning loose ball in the contact became a key factor for the home side, where the Back line of Anthony, Billy, the Shaq, Andrew and Milo saw a further 6 tries run in.
The Keyworth boys continued the fight & deservedly scored a well worked try by Charlie (No10), sandwiched in the middle of Mellish's scores.
The 2nd half continued in a similar manner to the first with Mellish in complete control & playing good expansive rugby.
Milo held the left wing well & Anthony, Billy & the Shaq produced some lovely offloading to stretch their defence on many occassions.
Jack showed glimpses of what he can do from 10 metres out, scoring an excellent & powerful try.
Joe,who looks like he has never been away, scored 3 tries himself to show what he do from the Number 8 shirt..........Charlie who?????
Shaquille remains a thorn in every teams' side with his electric pace.....has he got even faster than last year....I THINK HE HAS!
If he was Mexican he would be called Gonzalez..showing my age now!
The boys went onto score a total of 14 tries which belies Keyworth willingness & determination not to give up for the whole game. WELL DONE KEYWORTH.

Man of the Match went to Joe Kiernan for adapting to the Number 8 jersey so well.
