Mellish Coach Trip to Glossop ends with a convincing win

Half term at school depletes most if not all teams; Glossop and Mellish were no different.
However, the size of OUR squad can withstand 6 boys sunning it large somewhere and 2 longterm injuries and still take a strong 18 players on a 2 hour trip to the SK postcode.

Mellish looked sloppy in the warm ups before the game.....but it must have been a ploy on us coach's because as soon as the whistle went, the Mellish team were hungry and dominated from the 1st to the 25th minute.
2 early tries in the first 6 minutes put the Mellish in front and in command.
The back line looked strong and powerful and broke the gain line at every opportunity.
Billy took over the scrum half role and looked comfortable; he had a good solid game and backed it up with 2 awesome tries of his own.

Charlie reverted to No 13 for the first time and showed what he is capable off (be careful his head will get too big!); his CHRIS ASHTON celebration was a sight to see but not for the home team and parents....humility Charles I hear his mother say....

Aiden was back to his terrier best and scored his first try of the season and deservedly got the Man of the Match award.

Henry gave another impressive display....what he is capable of when that hunger burns.

Bearing in mind at least 6 players were playing out of position showed what the future can hold for this team in terms of strength in depth.

Tries scored by Charlie x 2, Billy x 2, Aiden, Henry and Shaun x 1 = 7
Dan converted 4 of which one was a drop kick (nice Dan!)

A big thank you to Glossop for fight back spirit which showed what they are capable of with the 2nd half being drawn with 2 tries a piece.
