A 400 mile round trip, 2 nights in a Youth Hostel and plenty of liquid refreshment didn't stop the lads picking up some silverware last weekend. With some of our players opting to run out for Loughborough Uni instead we sent a young team down to Somerset with a sprinkling of help from our friends in Norbury plus a fairly special Aussie Import too.
Mellor eased through the group stages with 6 wins out of 6 playing a random spread of Uni teams and southern based squads. A dreary 1-0 win vs Nuneaton saw us face Cheadle in the Semi Final. Off the back of a golden goal game Cheadle had both eyes on getting to the pub which probably contributed to the 7-1 thrashing that entailed. In the final, Elliott Leonard finally put his cider down to bag the winner before another night of debauchery in this lovely Somerset Town! Roll On The Season and Up The Muddogs!!!!!
