The team go undefeated on the day

This years Ted Donnett, which is always the opener for the U19 season was won by Mellor for the first time in 30 years. This was always going to be a good test to see where Mellor measured up against our opponents for the coming season. Before the day we thought we'd rank 3rd or 4th on paper.

The day started well with Mellor winning all 4 matches in the pool group beating Brooklands/Rochdale, Poynton, Stockport/Norbury and Timperley. Finishing top of the group pitched us against 4th place qualifier Timperley which was a re-run of last years semi-final. The result however was a different story with Mellor beating Timperley for a change. This pitched us against Stockport/Norbury in the final which was a rematch of the earlier days fixture. Stockport/Norbury came out of the blocks quickly taking a 3-1 lead. Mellor fought back and after a bit of confusion with the score full time ended 3-3. It was then down to golden goal which could have gone either way but Mellor nicked it.

Congratulations to Will Tadman on winning MVP and a big thanks to Manager Richard Major and Coach Andy Bickerton.
